How to Sew the Half Square Triangle with Squares

The most innovator quilt designer of all times - Mary Ellen Hopkins - designed the connector square back in the early 1980's and went on to design multiple variations.  Over the decades, many quilt designers have "invented" this technique, but we must go way back in time and thank Mary Ellen.  I was introduced to her technique in 1985 and never looked back.

If you buy one quilt book, find and buy this one:
It was the first book she published on her technique - subsequent publications by her were numbered, so look for the original whose cover looks like the above picture.
There fore a simplistic (very simplistic - I'm sure there are more sophisticated tutorials on Youtube or the internet available) on this technique and its application to the Half Square Triangle (aka HST).
